The three bases to this Ultimate Kenya Safari Tour have been carefully chosen because they offer something unique and unlike any other. Giraffe Manor is legendary for its images of guests feeding Rothchild’s giraffes as they poke their heads through the large windows of the historic manor house at breakfast. At Sasaab your game drives are bursting with wildlife you’re unlikely to see on other safari tours, including the ‘Samburu Special Five’, five species unique to the area: the Beisa oryx, reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Gerenuk antelope and Somali ostrich. While Sala’s Camp is renowned for its authentic Masai Mara experience in what is a quiet location in the National Reserve, and also a prime spot for seeing the wildebeest migration.

Itinerary

You’ll leave the UK on your flight to Nairobi where our representative will meet you at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and drive you to the Four Points by Sheraton Nairobi Airport for an overnight stay. This gentle stopover will give you a chance to acclimatise to the Kenyan temperature and get a good night’s rest after your flight before beginning your safari tour. Take a dip in the rooftop pool, then on to Tazama Rooftop Restaurant for dinner and cocktails with a view, before heading back to your soundproof room with its signature Four Points bed.
After breakfast you’ll check-out and be collected for your transfer to Wilson Airport for your flight to Sasaab Airstrip in the Westgate Community Conservancy. Here you’ll we taken to the luxury tented camp Sasaab for a two night stay. Your accommodation is a double tent with its own plunge pool and views across Laikipia Plateau toward Mount Kenya. This exceptional space is created to immerse you in the surroundings, with horizon views from the four-poster-bed and tented walls ensuring vistas from every room. Be sure to keep an eye on the river below Sassab where elephants regularly come to bathe.
Your stay includes a game package, so today can be spent discovering the rich wildlife of this stunning part of Kenya. Sightings could include elephant herds, big cats such as lions, leopards and cheetahs, and a wealth of birdlife. Your ranger will also help you to spy the Samburu Special Five which aren’t found anywhere else and consist of the beisa oryx, reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, gerenuk antelope and Somali ostrich. Game drives can start early with a picnic breakfast, or later with a stop for lunch. After sundowners your ranger can point out nocturnal wildlife including genet cats, white-tailed mongoose, porcupines and bush-babies.
Today you’ll move to your next stop, Maasai Mara. You’ll check out from Sasaab after breakfast and experience a final game drive on your way to the airstrip for your flight to the Mara Keekorok Airstrip. Here you’ll check into Sala’s Camp for a stay in a double tent with a game package included. Sala’s Camp offers an authentic Masai Mara experience with plenty of luxury, including your own private swimming pool on a wooden deck with views of the Sand River.
Your tour home in the Masai Mara is a safari camp of just seven tents in a quieter area of the national reserve, ensuring an exclusive experience for guests. During your stay you may well hear the roar of the local lion pride, and at certain times of year you’ll have a front row seat to the famous wildebeest migration as it comes into Kenya. Year-round game viewing is the draw of the Masai Mara, home to the Big Five but with so much more to discover besides. Sala Camp adds plenty to enhance the experience too, from sundowners on the savannah to cook-out breakfasts in the bush.
Following breakfast and a final dip in your private pool you’ll check out of Sala Camp and be driven to Mara Keekorok Airstrip for your flight to Nairobi's Wilson Airport. You’ll be met at the airport by our guest representative who will take you to Giraffe Manor for your fully-inclusive two-night stay. Here you can learn about the breeding and conservation programme of the Rothchild’s giraffe, and even feed the resident gentle giants from your suite’s balcony.
Your hotel needs little introduction, renowned as it is around the world for its unique offering; the “most unforgettable bucket-list breakfast in the world”. Here you’ll stay in a historic manor house which has been sympathetically updated so it still retains its charm and heritage with added comforts. Set in 12 acres of private land, within 140 acres of indigenous forest, Giraffe Manor is committed to the conservation of the Rothchild’s giraffe and has had great success in growing their once highly endangered numbers in the wild. The resident herd visit the boutique hotel every morning and evening to poke their heads through the windows in search of treats; an experience you’ll never forget.
After one last memorable breakfast at Giraffe Manor you’ll check-out and be driven to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your return flight to the UK.
