I still delight in discovering something or somewhere new

Having worked in the luxury travel industry in both India and the UK for nearly 30 years, I continue to love the new experiences and new knowledge I constantly gain. Even though I was born and brought up in India, I still delight in discovering something or somewhere new. My eyes really do light up when I hear the word 'India' and I love conveying my passion.

It is not just the sights, destinations, hotels, food or people but a real combination of all of them that makes a trip to India & the Sub-Continent special.

Where I have travelled recently

On my most recent adventure to India, I journeyed to Southern India visiting amazing sites of Hampi, the temple town of Madurai, Mysore famous for its palace and temple architecture, French quarters of Pondicherry and the splendid Andaman Islands. In December, I visited six national parks (including Kaziranga, Tadoba, Pench, Kanha, Bandhavgarh and Panna National park), luxury river cruising around Calcutta, visit Agra (home to Taj Mahal) and Delhi. I was very fortunate to see Royal Bengal Tigers, Sloth bears, Leopards, Wild dogs and countless animals and birds. Prior to that, in September, I travelled around Rajasthan and Shimla. In July, I went to remote areas of Northernmost frontiers of India (Kashmir and Ladakh) which was fantastic and earlier over Easter, I went to Kerala over the Easter period on a family holiday.

Most Memorable Experience

I have had some amazing and fascinating experiences but spotting Royal Bengal tigers at close quarters in Central India, and dining with members of the Indian royal families in a palace has to be my most memorable! I also loved my journey on the Maharajas' Express. I cherish the experience of riding famous Royal Enfield Motorbike on the world's highest motor-able road in Ladakh last summer.

My favourite destination: Delhi

As my hometown, Delhi for me will always hold a special place. There is so much more to be discovered here than people realise. I also love Jaisalmer for its rich history and, the surrounding environment of the Ceylon Tea Trails in Sri Lanka where I can enjoy real and natural beauty.

My favourite hotel: Oberoi New Delhi

My favourite hotels would have to be the Oberoi Udai Vilas and Taj Lake Palace in Udaipur for the most romantic and unique stay and The Ultimate Travelling Camp in Thiksey for its position in such scenic beauty.
