Africa Product & Travel Specialist

When you have acquired a taste for the bush, you are hooked on Africa for life. Curating exceptional experience is my passion!

About me

My career began in 1988 as an apprentice, where I stamped holiday brochures and daydreamed of exotic destinations. This sparked a real love for travel and was the inspiration for my now 30-plus-year career.

Many of those seemingly far-fetched dreams at the time have been realised over the years, and I consider myself extremely fortunate to have ticked some incredible places off my bucket list!

My years of working on cruise ships, in hotels, at luxury tour operators, and as a high street Travel Manager have taught me the importance of careful planning and attention to detail, ensuring each tailored trip exceeds expectations for every customer.

My most memorable travel experience

The very first time I visited Africa – it was a dream of mine to go, and I couldn’t believe it when the opportunity arose. I went to South Africa with a group of colleagues. We drove through the Western Cape, visited a variety of luxury properties, and experienced safaris in different reserves across the Eastern Cape.

My travel specialism

I am the Africa Travel Specialist at Inspiring Travel. I’ve been lucky enough to visit the continent several times, with travels to South Africa, Botswana, Kenya, Tanzania, Zanzibar, Zimbabwe and Zambia. I’ve also visited 14 Islands in the Maldives and the beautiful Mauritius.

My favourite destination: Kenya

Kenya is my favourite destination. It’s such a diverse country, encompassing savannahs, lakes, the dramatic Great Rift Valley, and the most iconic National Parks. What’s more, the beaches are heavenly, with powder-soft white sands and turquoise coastlines.

My favourite hotel: Angama Mara

I recently returned from one of my many visits to Kenya, and Angama Mara in the Masai Mara stood out for me. Everything was incredible, from the location perched high on the hills of the Mara, to the tastefully furnished accommodation and magical dining experiences. This place will leave you with amazing memories from start to finish.

Service commitment from you:

I’ll get to know you, and exactly what you want from your holiday, to help you build the very best itinerary for an amazing holiday.

Your top tips for travellers:

  • Make sure you travel to Africa equipped with DEET-based repellent to protect yourself from insect bites
  • Pack light as there’s limited luggage allowance on light aircrafts
  • Don’t bring too many clothes - a lot of lodges do the laundry for you, so you can wear the same clothes on rotation
  • Don’t go out on safari wearing bright colours – you’ll attract all the insects
  • Tipping is a big thing in Africa, so make sure you bring low denominations with you
